Wakefield

2013 ULTREYA GB Hosted by the Diocese of Wakefield
Saturday 7th September at Wakefield Cathedral

Plans are well on the way for Ultreya GB in Wakefield cathedral on Saturday 7th September.

It is so appropriate for Wakefield as we are celebrating 125 years as a diocese, and the beautiful newly re-ordered and refurbished cathedral was blessed by the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, on Pentecost Sunday.

It will also be a privilege for us to host the national ultreya as we celebrate 25 years of Wakefield Anglican Cursillo.

We look forward to welcoming lots of friends from many different places to the cathedral for what we hope will be above all, an inspiring and memorable day, packed with worship, praise and Christian fellowship.

The reordering of the cathedral means that everything, (apart from the walk of witness) can make full use of the flexible space.

  • The day will begin with registration, tea / coffee from 8-45am
  • The walk of witness around the cathedral precinct will be led by a local brass band, and another music group will lead part of the worship.
  • The day will culminate with a Ceilidgh and pie & pea supper also in the cathedral in the evening.

Please keep us in your prayers that our plans may be truly God’s plans, and fulfilled to his glory and praise. ULTREYA.

Margaret Holmes.
