The 2019 BACC Pilgrimage

“The Path to Pilgrimage – Becket and Beyond”

Tuesday 13th August to Friday 16th August

The 2019 BACC pilgrimage will be organised by Canterbury Cursillo and based in Dover, Kent.  The focus will be on the subject of pilgrimage following the death of Becket in 1170 AD.  In those times, pilgrims came to Canterbury from all parts of the British Isles and also from Europe in considerable numbers. Our pilgrimage will be led by Rev’d Dr. Christopher Dent, a highly respected historian and experienced pilgrimage leader - we will be visiting historic and spiritual sites in East Kent including Canterbury Cathedral.

Dover College is where we will be staying – a place not only of great learning but also of significant historical interest. We will use the College’s comfortable minibuses for our transport and the provisional itinerary blends interesting history with significant spiritual experiences and worship. A memorable experience is guaranteed – the maximum number of pilgrims will be 40/45 and the cost per person is £250.00. English Heritage members are requested to bring their membership cards and Canterbury Cathedral precinct pass holders are requested to bring their passes.

The application form gives details of the booking procedure. Full details of each day’s events and other details will be available in the near future. It is with sincere regret that this pilgrimage is simply not suitable for wheelchair users due to the accessibility of nearly all the sites we will be visiting.
